This soft tissue lumps and bumps scan is to look in detail at most parts of the body as needed, including assessment of the skin layers and underlying muscles. It is for people over 16 years of age.

It does not include:

● Breast tissue
● Thyroid
● Armpits (axilla)

This scan is performed by a qualified sonographer with diagnostic scanning experience.

The scan can investigate the causes of:

● Soft tissue swellings and lumps
● Ganglions
● Lipomas
● Cysts
● Skin changes
● Foreign bodies
● Hernias
● Unexplained swellings in most parts of the body

Referrals for scans can be made following a consultation with a GP who will discuss your needs and suitability for referral.
